Antique oak church wheel that would have been used to activate the swinging of a large bell. The wheel would have been attached to a block of wood holding the bell. A rope would have been going around the channels of the wheel and at the bottom of the church tower the ropes would have been pulled.
The wheel was made in two halves that slot into each other. The wheel has been bleached to reveal a lighter colour. The wheel could be used as a decorative item in one piece or in two halves. Alternatively the wheel could be made into one large mirror or two half mirrors.
An usual and very decorative item.
